Trois Collines – Finest wine in Lebanon
Lebanon is a country immensely rich in history. For almost 2000 years, the Temple of Bacchus, the Roman God of Wine, has stood as the largest Roman edifice outside Italy.Dating back even further, more than 4000 years ago the oenicians introduced their grape growing expertise and wine making skills to other parts along their trade routes, launching their enterprise from the shores of what is now Lebanon. The Phoenicians and their descendants spread their commercial reach to include parts of North Africa, as well as the Greek Isles and other parts of modern day Europe such as France, Spain and Italy. This combined history is testament to the role the region played in the creation and evolution of one of the world’s most enjoyed libations. It goes without saying that wine making has had an exponentially dramatic impact on the world, both culturally and commercially
Since the time of the Phoenicians many cultures have made their way to this region and inevitably influenced cultural and social practices. During these transitional periods wine production in Lebanon declined drastically, allowing other countries to forge ahead in this sphere, establishing themselves as expert wine makers. However, the lull in Lebanon’s wine history was followed by a resurgence in wine making in the 1800’s.Since that time Lebanon has re-established itself, utilizing resources that have been part of its historical importance, to experience a renaissance in wine roduction. With an appreciation for what came before, Chateau Trois Collines combines an ancient art with modern science to become the region’s premier wine producer. The finest and most richly distinctive wine of the region.
We carefully test the soil for ideal grape varieties selection prior to planting.
Slopes at an altitude of 1450-1650 allow for ideal air circulation and balance of temperature.
The day and night temperature difference allow the grapes to have a balanced and optimal maturity.
A snowy winter climate provides the required chilling hours to regulate the growth of the vines.
The rocky soil texture allows for an ideal water drip system to the roots and arable soil.
Thus the concern of developing A Green & Sustainable Agricultural Approach to Create an Organic Wine & Farming System from Aïn Bourdaï all the way to Dahr El Baïdar… Certified Organic by CCPB with an annual audit visit and review, Château Trois Collines strives to be dependent on renewable energy sources, wind mills, solar panels… for an economic, long term, nature friendly, minimizing pollution… in a country suffocating by generators, at least when visiting the vines our escape day- we enjoy a deep breath of fresh, fresh air!
The Rationale behind the choice of our set of grape
varietals: Creating the Mediterranean Blend Wine Style!
In a time other Lebanese wineries and colleagues are trying to revive the endogenous Obeidy, Merwah & Meksess in the whites, we took a different direction! We believe in the untapped potential of certain grape varietals, not yet introduced to the Lebanese Terroirs. Or if so, not well expressing their varietal character vs the terroir’s… The high altitude in Aïn Bourdaï along with the daily gaps of temperatures allows for an adaptation of a number of varietals along with the different soils profiles… Our Lebanese gastronomy is of a strong character and diversity, we aim providing a harmonious wine to pair with elegantly!

Terroir Location: Ain Bourdaï, Baalbeck Region, North Bekaa Hills at the Western Slopes of the Anti-Lebanon... Altitude 1500m (On average!) which slows maturity and optimizes the sugar / acidity balance... Major exposure South - west; Soil shallow in the rocky spots, calcareous (lime stone), pebbles and clay in some plots! Isolated terroir which favours the organic feature, being very distant from other vine cultures (low contamination with parasites and diseases)! Slopes, steep, preserved as is, favouring natural drainage and the poor structure in surface, forcing the roots to search deep layers for minerals, helping increase the freshness, maintain the wines colours, aromas development and vines hygiene..
Vineyard: Northeastern Bekaa Hills
Winery: Mount Lebanon – Ain Dara – Dahr El Baidar
